60s Pink Colonial MWT Vintage Tablecloth Although the paper label says the manufacturer is California, this looks like a Leacock Quality Hand Prints cloth to me. Must be one of their later lines. The fabric feels thinner than most Leacocks and is starched really stiff. Sort of weird feeling. There is a spot in the center area as pictured. Small scattered spots by a corner. Pink Sugar Maple MWT Napkins Vintage Tablecloth This sweet linen teacloth has the original paper label from Paragon Needlecraft and the pattern name Sugar Maple. It has printing in pretty pink, gray and silver on a creamy linen. Two of the bunches have a slight offset in printing as pictured. Pink overlock stitching edges both the tablecloth and the napkins. 1939 SFWF Worlds Fair Vintage Tablecloth I seem to find New York Worlds Fair cloths more often than those from San Francisco. This Worlds Fair was called the International Golden Gate Exposition and was held to commemorate the construction of the Golden Gate and San Francisco Bay bridges. The colors are bright and the tablecloth looks barely used. There are a couple of places where there are light white marks that I did not try to remove. There is one pinhole right by an edge. Wheelbarrows and Hearts Vintage Tablecloth This wonderful tablecloth looks to me to be a 30s two color printing. I dont remember ever seeing it before! There are hearts in the center and even in the wheels on the wheelbarrow. A great cloth for someone with a love of gardening! The colors are gently faded. There is a half inch hole hidden out in the border. I didnt see it until I ironed the tablecloth. I lost it then it took 5 minutes to find it again. It is in an outer heart. There is also one light yellow dime sized spot that is hard to see. I bought this one for my own collection but I am losing my cupboard to put in a full sized washer/dryer and am going to have to start letting things go. First, there is an area at the top of the cloth where someone has written in pencil. There are also two big stains although they are visible but not obvious. Pink Classical Smaller MWT Vintage Tablecloth Perfect for Valentines Day or Easter, this pretty pink tablecloth has the original label. I have two of these. This is the smaller of the two. The paper label lists the pattern name as Medallion which fits because it reminds me of the plaster medallions and trims in the dining rooms of the fancy houses in great vacation places like Marblehead and Newport. Leacock refers to this size as the Luncheon setting. There are two pinks on an off-white cotton rayon blend. The background is creamier than it looks in the pictures. Mystery Canape Entertaining MWT Vintage Tablecloth This is another mystery tablecloth, dont I love them so much? I bought this thinking it was the famous California Handprints canape cloth with a paper label no less! How surprised was I when it arrived in a rayon body with a paper label from a Canadian manufacturer? I know that there are other Canadian manufacturers who print versions of Wilendur tablecloths too. Did they rip off the American designers? Did they buy the rights to reprint in Canada? Did the copyrights not extend beyond the borders? Who knows? This tablecloth has a paper label from Muir Original (notice the irony?) The pattern name is Invitation. There is a small blue penmark out in the border as shown. Since this is a rayon cloth, care should be taken, especially when the cloth is wet. I do not recommend the use of Oxy products on pure rayon tablecloths. Tammis Keefe Paisley Linen Vintage Tablecloth What a fun and funky pattern! Like an overgrown bandana! It is signed by Tammis Keefe, a textile designer who was highly regarded even during her lifetime. According to Fun Linens by Scofield and Zalamea, signed Keefe tablecloths sold for nearly $12 in the mid fifties, when other tablecloths sold for $5. Many of her tablecloths were designed for Fallani & Cohn Falflax. This is likely one of their tablecloths. The color is a bricky red, not a true red. I think the pictures are fairly close except for the signature. Seems barely used although I did launder to remove a slight attic smell. I found three spots outside the border. One tiny blue mark and two light smudgy rusty colored spots as pictured. CAHP Cowboy Campfire Vintage Tablecloth I have never had this tablecloth before. A California Handprints. I always assumed it would be a cream colored heavy rayon blend like many of their other cloths. This one is tan and feels like cotton to me. The only other cotton CAHP cloths I remember are the dancing cacti and the square dancing kids. This tablecloth is in wonderful shape.
