This hard to find veggie cloth has been in my personal collection for a couple of decades. It is from the World War II era. The government (both US and UK) were encouraging people to grow their own "Victory Gardens" that allowed the food grown on farms to be sent to the soldiers. The background is slightly taupey as these earlier fabrics were not bleached white like later tablecloths. It has soft organic dyes as the chemical dyes of the day were mostly produced in Germany and we know what happened there. One small section in the center area has a printing flaw but it's not obvious. A single tiny broken thread in the border.
  • Dye Condition: gently faded with an area of blue misprint in the center. Couple of tiny dye skips
  • Fabric Content: mid weight cotton
  • Hems/Selvedges: good
  • Holes/Tears: broken thread in the border
  • Size: 52 X 49 inches
  • Stains: none
